Each path uses similar skills but feels completely different day to day. Understanding the differences early saves years of drifting.

Agency and Freelance

You serve several clients at once, switch contexts often, learn fast across many stores and are judged on results and communication. Income depends on winning and keeping clients. You need sales, scoping and account management skills as well as marketing skills.

In-House

You go deep on one brand, work with product, operations and finance colleagues, and see the long-term effects of your decisions. Income is usually more stable, but your scope depends on the company's size and priorities.

Affiliate

You build your own content property and earn commissions when readers buy through your links. You control the work, but income is uncertain, depends on traffic you build over time, and is exposed to program and search changes you cannot control.

Action Step

Write one paragraph describing a typical week on each path and rate how much each appeals to you from 1 to 5.
