What this is

Moving into management changes what success means: your output becomes your team's output. Many new managers are promoted for being excellent individual contributors and then left to figure out the rest. This course focuses on the transition itself. You will plan your first ninety days, reset relationships with former peers, run effective one-to-ones, delegate without micromanaging, give feedback and protect your own time. You finish with a ninety-day transition plan and a set of management templates.

You work through it at your own pace, lesson by lesson, applying each exercise to your own situation. It does not promise a job offer, promotion or pay rise; outcomes depend on your field, your experience and the employers you approach.

  • Understand how the manager role differs from individual contributor work
  • Plan your first ninety days as a manager
  • Navigate the shift from peer to manager
